DAY 1
CUSCO - HUACARPAY - AMPATUNES- CULEBRAYOC - KUPORO
3100 – 4,269 -1700 -730 masl
We leave early from Cusco towards the Huacarpay (30 minutes drive) wetland, our first stop, a perfect spot south of Cusco to observe Andean birds such as the Bearded Mountaineer, Rusty Fronted Canastero, Creamy Crested Spinetail, Streak Fronted Thornbird, Darwin's Nothura, Giant Hummingbird and many others.
Later that morning we will drive to the Ampatunes Lagoon (2:30 to 3 hours drive) where we will have a great opportunity to observe important birds such as the Crested Duck, the Giant Coot, the Andean Ibis, the Andean Hillstar and the Andean Negrito as well as others. Lunch time will be served as a delicious picnic to replenish energy and continue our birdwatching adventure.
After meandering up and down the highest mountain pass of our trip at around 4800 masl (which might be either Hualla Hualla or Pirhuayani, depeding on weather conditions) we start our descent to the rainforest. Our first stop on the eastern slopes of the Andes, at the highest ends of the amazonian rainforest, will be Culebrayoc (45 minutes drive), a cloud forest of medium height where the observation of captivating species such as the Green and White Hummingbird, the Black Eared Hemispingus or the Capped Conebill is possible.

DAY 2
KUPORO-CAPIRE
730 - 1300 masl
Kuporo lodge is strategically located at 730 masl, between the valleys of Marcapata and Camanti in a hilly forest where the Amazon plains and the Andes merge. This location makes bird watching even more interesting and gives us the chance to visit different habitats types of habitats in a short period of time.
In the morning and hiking around the lodge trails we will be able to observe Rufous Vented Ground Cuckoo, Wire Crested Thorntail, Scarled Hooded Barbet, Amazonian Umbrellabird, American Pygmy Kingfisher, Brown winged Schiffornis, Sapphire Quail Dove as well as many other species.
Our afternoon will be spent on an area of higher elevation called “Capire”. Here, the cloud forest offers a whole different plethora of bird species, such as the Torrent Duck, (Torrent Tyrannulet), White capped Dipper, Faciated Tiger Heron, and others.

DAY 3
KUSILLACHAYOC - LEK 167
730-3100 - 1050 masl
We will depart early to ascend the Interoceanic highway until we reach 3100 masl. The cloud forest at this elevations offers a different set of birds, such as the Tufted Tit Tyrant, Superciliared and Three striped Hemispingus, Urubamba Antpitta, Diademed Tapaculo, Blue Backed Conebill and Mountain Wren. We will observe some of these birds in a very different rainforest than the one we were just in yesterday.
The afternoon holds a marvelous surprise at the Lek 167. We will be able to observe the world famous and national bird of Peru ¨Gallitos de las Rocas¨ or Cock Of the Rock, hopefully willing to perform a dance for our cameras (and the female Cock of the Rock, of course).

DAY 4
SOQTAPATA
1000-1200 masl
Today we will immerse ourselves in the cloud forest of the Soqtapata conservation concession, where we will have no difficulty finding birds such as the Black Tinamou, the Peruvian Piedtail, the Green and White Hummingbird, Blue Headed Macaws and Military Macaws as well as others. Be prepared for a stunning hike!

DAY 5
HUADYUMBRE-SACHAVACAYOC
600 - 250 masl
Early wake up call to drive to lower elevations and spend another spectacular day birdwatching. First we head to the Amazon Pre-plain hills called Huadyumbre, where we can find species such as the Koepcke's Hermit, Rusty Fronted Tody Flycatcher, Black Backed Tody Flycatcher, Cabani's Spinetail, among other remarkable specimens.
Later this day we continue down to a lower forest area called "Sachavacayoc", where we will find a different assortment of birds such as the Razor Billed Curassow, the Western Striolated Puffbird, the Short-tailed Pygmy Tyrant, the Musician Wren as well as many others.

DAY 6
COLPA-CHUNCHO
250 masl
We will depart very early and navigate the Tambopata River towards the Collpa Chuncho located in the Tambopata National Reserve where we will have breakfast with a spectacular show of parakeets, parrots and macaws on the clay lick of Chuncho. The spectacle of birds is one of a lifetime to observe. Here we will also be able to spot birds such as the Orinoco Goose, the Horned Streamer and the Blue Head Macaw.
After a wonderful morning, we will head to the Tres Chimbadas lagoon, a beautiful feature of water in the middle of the jungle where we can find birds such as the Hoatzin, Rufescent Tiger Heron, Tuqui-Tuqui or Wattled Jacana, King Vultures, Azure Gallinule and others alike.

DAY 7
SACHAVACAYOC
250 masl
Today we will spend our day around the Sachavacayoc lodge trails spotting birds such as the Razor Billed Curassow, Western Striolated Puffbird, Short Tailed Pygmy Tyrant or the Musician Wren.
This day, during the afternoon we navigate by boat to Puerto Maldonado, where our services end.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch.
